Lugo, a city over 100.000 people and more than 2.000 years old, is located on the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, on the banks of the river Miño.

Nowadays, Lugo is a commercial and service city with a university campus specialized in Agricultural Sciences (Veterinary Medicine, Forestry). Since the foundation of the Faculty of Veterinary in 1984, Lugo became one of the main university cities in Galicia, only overcomed by Santiago de Compostela.

At present, SAN FROILÁN (localy holidays, 5th Octuber) and ARDE LUCUS (June) are the most important celabrations in Lugo.
